International Translators Day is an international day celebrated every year on 30 September on the feast of St. Jerome, the Bible translator who is considered the Patron Saint of Translators.
The work of translators and interpreters is still carried out silently and diligently every single day, often without thanks or recognition and especially now during difficult times around the world and in Australia.
International Translators Day 2020 is an opportunity to display pride in our profession which plays a significant role in Australia and globally.
In Australia, Language Experts is the one and only organisation celebrating this significant day in a big way.
It is an opportunity to pay tribute to the work of language professionals and Language Experts is doing exactly that by being the first training organisation to offer pd training for recertification of almost all of its program via Webinar at heavily reduced prices in addressing the COVID -19 event and its impact on our profession.
As already announced recently on our social medial channels, Language Experts has dedicated this whole month to our profession in Australia by delivering courses and modules bearing in mind this year’s theme being “Finding the words in a World in Crisis”.
Webinars included courses previously not offered as well as the ones already on the calendar.
New Modules were developed and delivered via Webinar such as the Video Conference Interpreting and the Duties and Responsibilities of Interpreters and Translators in legal settings.
New Courses were developed and delivered via Webinar titled Police Interpreter and Translator Course, Translation Course – Collocations and Articles and Translation Course – Vocabulary Building and Pronunciation.
The International Translation Day 2020 celebrations hosted by Language Experts will culminate in a complimentary Webinar to be held on the actual day i.e., 30 September 2020 at 12:00pm AEST.
Language Experts invites you to participate in this year’s celebrations by submitting an article on this year’s theme of this significant day in our Calendar. The winners of the article will be announced during the Webinar on 30 September 2020. They will receive a complementary pd course worth 20 pd points as well as an opportunity to have their articles published by Language Experts and a copy of one of Language Experts own publications.
Places for the complementary Webinar on 30 September are limited so please register early!
We look forward to your submissions for the Article competition and also we look forward to your registration to the complimentary Webinar.
